Integrating Macs with PCs
Although we consider ourselves passionate Mac users, we've also run PCs in our studio for many years. The need to run Windows began on the day we started to create web-pages. Being designers, we've always used Macs but suddenly, given the predominance of the Windows platform, it became essential for us to check the performance of our web sites using a PC.

Changing Times
When I first wrote the text for this page Apple Computer had not long switched from the "G5" processor to the Intel® processors. It's been well over a year since then, and I wonder how well the computer buying public understand the implications of that change. Well, just in case there's anyone out there who's not already aware of this, Mac users can now run Microsoft Windows natively on their Mac, if they should need to.
This is a tremendous advantage for anyone who has needed to use both operating systems and thus required two separate machines. Now they need only one machine - a Mac.
Things You Should Know
Windows is not bundled free with your Mac, you will have to buy your own copy.
There are two ways to run Windows on your Mac.
1. Using "Boot Camp", Windows can be run from a separate partition on your hard disk and must be booted separately. This means when you start your Mac you have a choice of OS - Windows or OSX, not both.
2. By purchasing a conduit application such as "Parallels" you can use both Operating Systems side by side. Using "Parallels Desktop", Windows will sit within it's own window, just like any other application running on OS X. Naturally, this will affect the performance of both systems as they share whatever memory and processor power is available.
